Arvie Severson was born in Lyon County, Minnesota, to Sebert and Bettie (Anderson) Severson. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at St. Lucas Church of rural Cottonwood, Minnesota. On April 18, 1936, he was united in marriage to Alice Nyland. He worked as butter maker in the Cottonwood Creamery and Swift Creamery in Montevideo the first few years, then he was engaged in farming in the Hazel Run area until his retirement due to his health. They moved to Clarkfield, Minnesota, in 1973. After a lingering illness, he passed away at the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota. Survivors include his wife, Alice (Nyland) Severson; children: Ralph (Nona) Severson of Siren, Wisconsin, Curtis (Winnie) Severson of Clarkfield and Sally (Curtis) Christianson of Clarkfield.
