Arvid LeRoy Miller was born and raised on the farm in Vallers Township, Lyon County, Minnesota, to parents Magnus O. and Allie (Anderson) Miller, where he has resided all his life. He was a lifelong member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church. He served as clerk of Vallers Township for many years. He passed away Sunday, March 17, 1968, at the Montevideo Hospital, at the age of 58 years. Arvid is survived by his widow, Arline (Kompelien) Miller of rural Cottonwood; three children: Darline (Mrs. Donald Molde) of Minneapolis, Lee of Marshall, Minnesota, and Scott, at home in school. He is the only surving child of his mother, Mrs. Alina Miller of Marshall. He is preceded in death by his father, Magnus Miller, who passed away February, 1949, and a sister, Florence, who passed away at about age 10.
