Arvey R. Hanson (July 9, 1924 ~ July 19, 2010) Arvey Roy Hanson was born on July 9, 1924, the son of Mandt Roy and Anna Mathilda (Peterson) Hanson. He was born on the Hanson Farm in Lisbon Township, Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1942. He married Diana Nelson, a high school classmate from Clarkfield, on March 25, 1960. Arvey was in farming and dairy for 45 years. He was active on the Lisbon Town Board for 12 years and the elevator board for 22 years. Arvey loved to bowl and was on a couples league along with a mens league for 50 years. He had a keen memory for a good card game especially pinochle. Arvey donated 12 gallons of blood over his lifetime as a loyal donor of the local Red Cross Bloodmobile. He retired in 1986 and along with Diana moved into town and his son Allen, the 5th generation, took over the operation of the farm. In addition to his wife, Diana, he is survived by three children: Sylvia and husband Kenneth Bacon of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Allen Hanson and wife Gail of Clarkfield and daughter Cathy and fiancé Brad Peterson of Ham Lake, Minnesota. He is also survived by four grandsons: Adam, Joshua and Seth Hanson and Mitch McDonald, along with their families. He has two surviving sisters: Doris Hagedon of Covington, Virginia, and Marilyn Hanson of Mesa, Arizona, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Monday morning when Dad took his last breath here on earth, he took his next clear, strong breath in heaven where God wiped away his tears and sorrows.
