Arthur R. Anderson was born on February 9, 1912, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Albert and Nellie (Rudell) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Fridhem Lutheran Church and attended Country School District #29. Arthur was united in marriage to Minnie Appelwick on February 9, 1938. They lived on their farm in Tyro Township until about 15 years ago, when they moved to Granite Falls, Minnesota, for a short time and then made their home in Clarkfield, Minnesota. Art passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, on Tuesday evening, June 29, 1999, at the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 26 days. He is survived by his sisters: Myrtle Appelwick of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Anna (and Elmer) Anderson of Granite Falls, Minnesota. He is also survived by sisters-in-law: Elda Anderson, Clarkfield, Anna Applewick, Clarkfield, and Cecile Berg, Clarkston, Michigan; plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother Jennie Willander Anderson; wife Minnie in 1996; brother Harry; and sisters: Alice Johnson, Dora Dotseth, infant sister Helen, Albertha Johnson, and Alpha Anderson. Art was a member of Israel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the Mealsite each day and was fond of his many neighbors and friends, all who were very good to him. He will be missed by many.
