Obituary

Arthur Conrad Husby was born July 13, 1910, in Lac qui Parle County near Boyd, Minnesota, to Ole and Anna (Gilbertson) Husby. He attended school at Boyd, Minnesota, later attending Madison Lutheran Normal School in Madison, Minnesota. On February 7, 1942, he was united in marriage to Lyle C. Westergard of Chester, South Dakota. The couple lived at Montevideo and Dawson, Minnesota, while Art was engaged in road construction work. In 1955 he started farming at Boyd, Minnesota, later moving to his own farm near Clarkfield where he farmed for the past twelve years. For the past five years, he has been semi-retired due to failing health. In October of 1970, he moved to Starbuck, Minnesota, where he expected to retire at his Lake Minnewaska home. From January 18 to February 8 he was hospitalized at the Minnewaska Hospital in Starbuck with congestive heart failure due to emphysema. He recovered well enough to go home to enjoy five precious weeks. He entered his eternal home in the early morning hours on March 15, 1971. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Elmer and Orville. He is survived by his widow, Lyle; two sisters: Esther Asbjorenson of Dawson, Minnesota, and Alice Kirkeby of Clarkfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins. IN MEMORY OF ARTHUR C.
