Arthur E. Gordon was born September 25, 1905, to Anne (Selness) and Arne Gordon on a farm in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Boyd Lutheran Church. As a young boy they moved to Boyd, Minnesota, later moving to Clarkfield, Minnesota. On October 25, 1928, he was united in marriage to Ruby Larson of rural Clarkfield. To this union three children were born: Ramona, Roger and Arthur, Jr. Art was known to many as one of their local electricians for many years until three years ago when he had to give up his work to failing health. He entered the Clarkfield hospital January 29 and passed away Monday, February 12, 1979, at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 13 days. He is survived by his wife Ruby; daughter Ramona and husband Allen Cornelius of Clarkfield; son Roger and wife Shirley of Garden Grove, California; brother Bayard of Montevideo, Minnesota; sister Ruth Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; seven grandchildren: Diane Norgaard, Trudy Shaw, Karen Renneke, Linda Lewison, David Cornelius, Randy Gordon and Lisa Gordon; eight great grandchildren; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law; plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.
