Arthur Behr, of Granite Falls, died March 8, 2016, at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 76. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Granite Falls Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield, Minnesota, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Arthur Emil Behr was born December 12, 1939, at Wood Lake, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Loretta (Wigand) Behr. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran in Wood Lake in December of 1939 and later confirmed there May 3, 1953. Arthur attended rural school, then parochial school at St., John's in Wood Lake and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1957. He served in the Army National Guard for eight years. Art also attended Granite Vo-tech. Art was united in marriage with Mary Ann Stueland June 9, 1967, at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. He was proud to have lived and farmed on the homestead where he grew up. Art worked at the casino from the time it was opened until retiring a year ago. They moved into Granite Falls in March of 2015. Art was a First Responder and was active at his church where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon. He was an excellent pianist and could play by ear or by note. He enjoyed fishing whenever possible. He is survived by his wife, Mary; two children: Christine (Mark) Rasmussen of Stillwater, Minnesota, and Col. Richard (Lori) Behr of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma; two grandchildren: Alexandra and Catherine Rasmussen; a sister, Leanna Fredricks of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
