Arnold Arthur Walter was born on November 21, 1920, in Omro Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Eli and Hattie (Bohn) Walter. With the exception of two years in Nebraska, he lived his entire life in Yellow Medicine County. On February 27, 1944, Arnold was united in marriage to Evelyn Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, Minnesota. Arnie and Evelyn were the parents of five children: Steve, Stan, Bruce, Susan and Alan. They farmed in Tyro Township for many years. Arnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, flowers and working in his shop. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Arnie passed away at his home in Tyro Township on Friday morning, March 17, 2000, at the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 25 days. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of Boyd and his children: Steven (and Marlys) of Willmar, Minnesota, Stanford of Guatemala, Bruce (and Cathy) of Eagan, Minnesota, Susan (and Robert) Grigg of Miami, Florida, and Alan (and Lori) of Monticello, Minnesota. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; sister Eleanor Beninga of Granite Falls, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerhard.
