Arnold M. Johnson Sr., of Wegdahl, Minnesota, was born in Granite Falls, Minnesota, September 5, 1900, to Gabriel and Sophie (Mikelson) Johnson. He married Verna Cox of Kirksville, Missouri, December 26, 1923, in Sioux City, Iowa, where he was employed by the Great Northern Railroad until 1929. He moved to the Granite Falls area where he was engaged in farming until retirement in 1965. Mr. Johnson passed away Sunday, July 21, 1974, at the Granite Falls Hospital of a heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Verna; two sons: Arnold R. Jr. of Granite Falls, and Donald of Anoka, Minnesota; three daughters: Zelma (Mrs. Ewald Wanagas) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Vivien (Mrs. Marvin Bakker) of Maynard, Minnesota and Jacqueline (Mrs. Oliver MacKenzie) of Willmar, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers: Sylvan of Granite Falls, Arthur S. of Clarkfield, and Alfred of Wood Lake, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by daughter, Patty, one granddaughter, his parents, five brothers and three sisters. IN MEMORY OF ARNOLD M.
