Arnold John Anderson was born August 1, 1915, in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Pete and Jetta (Bertelson) Anderson. He was baptized September 15, 1915, and confirmed March 29, 1921, at the Ebenezer-Fridhem Church by the Rev. Carl E. Anderson. He attended public school at Clarkfield. Arnold served three years in the military service in World War II in the European theater. On March 18, 1951, he was united in marriage to Esther Pease by the Rev. C.O. Bomgren. They lived most of their years together in the Clarkfied/Hazel Run area, where "Pete" as he was known, was engaged in farming. He passed away at his home in Hazel Run at the age of 53 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, half-brother Lester, half-sisters Anne Swanson, Bette Swanson and brothers Benard and Palmer. Surviving him are his wife, Esther; brother, Alvin of Granite Falls; sister, Maye Oakland of Clarkfield; half-sister Ella Kompelien of Minneota; and a number of nieces and nephews.
