Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd for Arnold Anderson, a World War I veteran, who passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 1969, at the Montevideo Hospital, at the age of 79 years. Mr. Anderson was born on September 28, 1889, at Fredrickstad, Norway, the son of Andrew and Mathia (Hanson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed in the same community. On August 17, 1920, he was united in marriage to Agnes Peterson at Milbank, South Dakota. The family farmed in the Boyd community until his health began to fail and since then has resided in the Boyd village. He passed away on July 8, 1969, at 6:15 after an illness of several months. Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers, three sisters and one son, Donald. Surviving him are his wife, Agnes; thirteen sons and daughters: Allen of San Diego, California, Alton of Annandale, Minnesota, Mrs. Margaret Johnson and Kenneth of Minneapolis, Doris (Mrs. Herb Patzwold) of Mound, Ruth (Mrs. Alvin Cornelius) of San Diego, California, June (Mrs. Donald Knudson) and James of St. Paul, Donna (Mrs. William Buseman) of Montevideo, Marlys (Mrs. Don Neiderer) of Minneapolis, Carol (Mrs. Roger Roberts) of Minneapolis, Janice (Mrs. Roy Anderson) of Montevideo, and Lynn of Minneapolis; 39 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one brother, Anchor Anderson of Dawson.
