Obituary

Ardith Sedona (Kompelien) Reishus February 3, 1926 ~ June 17, 2013 Ardith Sedona Reishus was born to parents Thorvold and Petra (Trandahl) Kompelien on February 3, 1926, at their farmhouse in Swede Prairie Township. She was baptized at St. Lucas Lutheran Church and confirmed at Israel Lutheran Church. In her early years, she went to country school and then graduated from Canby High School. She attended teachers training and taught two years of country school. Ardith and Martin E. Reishus were married on September 27, 1947, at Porter Lutheran Church in Porter, Minnesota. They were blessed with three children, Mark, Mary and Marlo. They lived and raised their family on the Reishus home place near Cottonwood. She started working for Cottonwood School District in the fall of 1966 and went on to earn her Bachelors degree from Southwest State University in Marshall and continued with graduate studies to teach Special Education. She enjoyed many years of teaching and helping her students. In her retirement, she enjoyed WELCA, Gold and Silver Club, Sons of Norway, bus trips, her many card clubs, Senior Cs, Senior Dining, reading books, watching movies and of course going shopping. Ardith passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center on Monday, June 17, 2013, at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 14 days. She is survived by her children: Mark (Nancy) Reishus of Watertown, South Dakota, Mary (Chuck) Brock of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Marlo Reishus of Waianae, Hawaii. Also surviving is sister, Pernilla Anderson of Clarkfield; brother David (Carolyn) Kompelien of Eagen, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Darin (Stephanie) Brock of Clarkfield, Nathan (Rebecca) Brock of Iowa City, Iowa, Emily (Justin) Griffith of Portland, Maine, and Erica Reishus of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and three great grandchildren, Talan and Kaelyn Brock and Clara Griffith. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, Martin and brother-in-law, Marvin Anderson. Blessed be her memory. In Loving Memory of Ardith S.
