Obituary

Ardis Mae Stevens was born to Ralph and Gertie Stevens on May 29, 1931, in Ten Mile Lake Township of Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, Minnesota, by the Rev. Martin Lein. She attended rural school near Boyd and graduated from Boyd High School in 1948. After graduation she was employed at Montevideo Hospital. On December 5, 1950, Ardis was united in marriage to Paul Saue at Boyd by the Rev. Martin Lein. They resided in the Montevideo community a few years, moving to Dawson in 1966. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Saue: Steven (who died in infancy), Daniel of Willmar, Minnesota, Laurie (Mrs. Roger Gritmacker) of Montevideo, and Beverly, Bryan and Keith at home. Survivors include her husband and children; her mother of Boyd; two brothers: Marvin Stevens of Bird Island, Minnesota, and Vernon Stevens of Boyd; several uncles, aunts, and cousins, and four nephews. Death came suddenly at her home Sunday morning, February 3, 1974, as the result of a coronary heart attack. She was 42 years old at the time of her death. Mrs. Saue was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and had been employed as a nurse at the Dawson Hospital. Funeral services were held February 5, 1974, at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson, Pastor Russell Anderson officiating. Organist was Mrs. Leonard Thompson and Mrs. Mary Jean Thorsland was soloist. Casket Bearers were Leslie, Orville, Percy and George Saue, Leonard Fokken and Kevin Stevens.
