Obituary

Ardeth lola (Diggins) Listul Dotseth was born January 4, 1919, in Friendship Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Tom and Eva (Benage) Diggins. Ardeth attended Clarkfield School. She lived her entire life in the Hazel Run and Clarkfield areas. She was baptized at the Clarkfield Methodist Church and in 1954 was confirmed. Later she became a member of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Ardeth was united in marriage to Howard Listul on June 28, 1938. To this union three children were born: Sharon, Glenn Howard, and Gail. Howard was killed in a County mower accident in 1941. On November 25, 1945, Ardeth and Lester Dotseth were married. A daughter, Diane, was born to them. Lester passed away in 1962, at which time, she moved to Clarkfield. She secured a job as a cook at the Clarkfield Public School, which she held for 21 years, retiring in 1984. Ardeth enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, reading and visiting with her good apartment friend Alice Anderson. She loved to visit with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home was the Clarkview Apartments in Clarkfield. She passed away Wednesday morning, August 1, 2001, at the Granite Manor, Granite Falls, Minnesota, where she had been staying, at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 28 days. She is survived by her daughters: Gail Stark of Willmar, Minnesota, and Diane (and husband Todd) Hofteig of Granite Falls, Minnesota; son-in-law Dennis (and Kathy) Dyrdahl of Hazel Run, Minnesota; her seven grandchildren: Pam (and Greg) Rogge, Allen (and Nancy) Dyrdahl, Randy (and Sheila) Dyrdahl, Mark (and Glenda) Hofteig, Michelle (and Bob) Kuttner, Craig (and Jan) Stark, and Chad (and Heidi) Stark; thirteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Howard Listul, and Lester Dotseth; infant son, Glenn Howard Listul; daughter, Sharon Dyrdahl; brother, Glenn Diggins; sister, Doris Hanson; nephews: Duane Hanson and Rodney Hanson. Blessed be her memory.
