Arden Gerhard Jurgenson was born in Clarkfield, Minnesota, September, 3, 1899, to Rasmus and Johanna (Vik) Anderson. At the age of 21 he was adopted by Matt Jurgenson. He was baptized and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church where he has remained a member his entire life. He was a life long dairy farmer, active in the Hauge Male Chorus, Creamery Board and other church and community activities. On November 21, 1925, he was united in marriage to Gladys Westre. Seven children were born to this union: Roland, Jeanne, Arden Jr., Richard, Howard, Caron and Larry. Arden passed away of a sudden heart attack on Friday March 12, 1982. Arden is survived by his wife, Gladys; sons: Roland (and Darlene) of Clarkfield, Arden Jr. (and Janice) of Plainview, Minnesota, Richard (and Liz) of Boyd, Minnesota, Howard (and Phyllis) of Clarkfield and Larry of Clarkfield; daughters: Jeanne (and Luvern) Johnson of Faribault, Minnesota, and Caron (and John) Aeikens of Sacred Heart, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Judith of Faribault, Minnesota, and Mildred of Petoskey, Michigan; and a host of relatives and friends.
