Obituary

Archie Sedoris Wold was born in Ten Mile Lake Township, rural Boyd, Minnesota on, March 2, 1909, the only child of Richard Ingeman Wold and Inga Ree Wold. He was baptized and confirmed in St Petri Lutheran Church, Camp Release Township. He attended school at District 56 of the Lac qui Parle County Schools and at Boyd High School. On March 6, 1948, Archie was united in marriage to Mary Eggan at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. To them, two children were born: Stanley Ree Wold of Duluth, and Richard Allen Wold of Boyd. Archie farmed northeast of Boyd on the land homesteaded by his grandfather. He was a faithful steward of the land and a lover of animals. Especially appreciative of his Norwegian heritage, he considered highlights in his life to be two trips to Norway, in 1930, with his parents, and in 1981, with Mary. More recently, he especially delighted in the laughter of his five grandchildren. Archie's faith journey included regular worship in St. Petri Lutheran Free Church and Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, where he served on the cemetery board for a time. He responded to his Lord's call with a life of quiet service and an unshakable faith in the Rock of Ages. In June of 1994, Archie entered Luther Haven Nursing Home, Montevideo, where on March 4, 1995, he died at the age of 86 years and two days. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Mary, his wife of 47 years; his son Stanley, with his wife Mona, and children Andrew and Kristin, all of Duluth; and son Richard, with his wife Lori, and children Douglas, Mandy, and Matthew, all of Boyd. Blessed be his memory, and to God be the Glory!
