Archibald "Archie" Russell Albertson was born October 3, 1907 in Charleston Township near Lamberton, MN to parents Albert and Louise (Heydlauff) Albertson. Archie married Gertrude Blum in Walnut Grove, MN on April 13, 1936. Since 1948, they made their home in rural Hazel Run where they raised one daughter, Margie, and eight sons: James, Spencer, Ronald, Bruce, Roger, Donald, Rodney and Gordon. He worked for area farmers and farmed all his life. Archie enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He passed away peacefully at his farm home near Hazel Run on Friday, October 18, at the age of 89 years and 16 days. Archie is survived by his children: Margie (and Ron) Anderson of Moorhead; James (and Jackie) of Bloomington; Spencer (and Lois) of San Antonio, TX; Ronald (and Marsha) of Montevideo; Roger (and Vicky) of Lynd; Bruce (and Nadine); Donald, Rodney and Gordon (and Candy) all of Clarkfield; 21 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and brothers: Earl of Dickinson, ND; Lowell of Florida; Orland of Lamberton; Orvall of Eveleth, and sisters: Jean of Sioux Falls, SD; Joan of St. Cloud and Lucille of California. He was preceded in death by wife Gertrude, his parents, grandson Craig and sisters Violet and Myrtle and brother Kermit. Blessed be his memory.
