Anund Tufte was born in Skien, Norway, December 17, 1862, and came to Rio, Wisconsin, in 1884, and settled in Hazel Run, Minnesota, in 1886. He married Selma Carlson in 1901 and lived in Hazel Run until 1930. He was a member of Hazel Run Lutheran Church. The Tuftes moved to Minneapolis and joined Bethel Lutheran Church. Anund, a retired painter, passed away October 13, 1952, at Eitel Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 88 years. He is survived by his wife Selma; one daughter, Mrs. Hardine Halverson of Hanley Falls, Minnesota; sons: Ralph of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Anund of Minneapolis; five grandchildren; and one brother and one sister in Norway.
