Anton O. Broughton was born May 7, 1892, in Minnesota, to parents Ole and Helena (Nelson) Broughton. On July 24, 1922, he was united in marriage to Inga Erickson at the church parsonage at St. Lucas Lutheran Church. To their union a daughter was born on August 8, 1929, Helen Georgia, who died three days later. Anton and Inga lived on farms west of Cottonwood. In 1941 Inga's niece Joyce came to live with them and was raised by Inga and Anton. Anton passed away August 11, 1975, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 83. Survivors include his wife, Inga. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter, Helen Georgia. IN MEMORY OF ANTON O.
