Annie Mathilda Doese was born on December 15, 1895, to parents, Andrew and Mathea (Olson) Swanson. Her parents were from Sweden. She was raised on her parents farm in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. As a young girl, she was baptized and later confirmed at Swede Home Lutheran Church. She attended rural school. Edwin Dahl and Annie Swanson were married on February 23, 1917. To this union two sons were born: Marvin and Everett. Edwin and Annie lived in Dawson most of their married life. Edwin passed away on February 11, 1951. Annie married Glenn Doese of Appleton on December 11, 1954. Annie and Glenn lived in the Benson, Minnesota and Appleton, Minnesota area and then moved to California. Glenn passed away on February 6, 1972. Annie then returned to Minnesota and lived at the Valhalla Apartments until she entered the Clarkfield Care Center. Annie passed away on Sunday evening, November 14, 1993 at the Care Center at the age of 97. She is survived by son Everett and wife Rachel of El Monte, California, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Edwin and Glenn; a son Marvin; and several brothers and sisters.
