Annie Adelia
(Jorgenson) Appelseth
May 10, 1898 – June 8, 1913
Annie Adelia Jorgenson Appleseth was born May 10, 1898, in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was one of six children of Thor and Kjersti (Foss) Jorgenson. She was baptized at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church at Hanley Falls by Rev. Strand and confirmed there on June 8, 1913, by Rev. Ole Lokensgaard. On January 15, 1921, she was united in marriage to Edward Appleseth at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Six children were born to this union, four sons and two daughters: James, LeRoy, and Esther Forsman of Minneapolis, Walter of Seattle, Washington, Ruby (Mrs. Dennis Anderson) of Dawson, Minnesota, and George of Storm Lake, Iowa. Annie worked in many places, including hotels and restaurants in the community during her life previous to her marriage. Since her husband passed away in March of 1955, she has lived in her home in northeast Clarkfield. Much of her time has been spent with her children and grandchildren these later years. She was a faithful member of Clarkfield Lutheran Church and the Elizabeth Circle. She also was a member of the "Young at Heart" group at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She passed away on February 22, 1968, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital at the age of 69 years. Beside her children, she is survived by 26 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; three brothers: John of Granite Falls, Anton and Melvin of Hazel Run; two sisters: Thora (Mrs. John Faaberg) of Dawson, Minnesota, and Clara (Mrs. Lloyd Eklund) of Boyd, Minnesota.
