Obituary

Annie Grinager was born June 14, 1874, in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Brede and Maria (Melbostad) Molstad. She was baptized by Rev. Thostenson and confirmed by Rev. Rolf Fjelstad at Bergen Lutheran Church. She remained at home on the farm to help her widowed mother until the time of her marriage when she came to Clarkfield to make her home. Annie was united in marriage to Anton Grinager of Clarkfield, on April 29, 1897, by the Rev. Farseth. To this union four children were born: Gifford, Morris, Martha and Alethe. The family made its home in the upstairs apartment over the store for 19 years. She resided here all these years with the exception of about two years spent in Colorado Springs where she made a 'home away from home' in an attempt to regain the health of her daughter, Martha. She became a member of the Ladies Aid in 1909 and served as president for four years, from 1915 to 1919. Deceased was always a faithful and enthusiastic worker in the Aid, Sunday school and church. She greatly missed these activities when her health became such as to necessitate a quiet life at home. She was ill for many years and spent the past three months in the Clarkfield Community Hospital where wonderful care was given her until the time of her passing, July 17th, 1957. She was preceded in death by two sons, Morris and Gifford; a daughter, Martha; her parents; two brothers, Erick and Olaf Moslstad; and two sisters: Mrs. Iver Sorum and Emma Molstad. Surviving are her husband, Anton; daughter, Alethe; son-in-law, Ardine Berkvam; and grandson, Ardine, Jr.; besides several nephews and neices. Upright and faithful in all her ways, A wonderful character to the end of her days, A loving mother, true and kind, What a beautiful memory she leaves behind. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
