Annette Love was born December 9, 1895, the youngest of eight children in the family of Arne and Johanna (Maurset) Iverson who were early immigrants from Norway to Yellow Medicine County. She was baptized on January 5, 1896, by pastor Farseth in the old United Lutheran Church of Clarkfield. On May 8, 1918, she was united in marriage to Raymond William Love who worked for the Bergren Ford Agency, driving new cars from Minneapolis back to the Clarkfield agency. Nettie often recalled those early days as very happy ones as she accompanied her husband on those excursions to the big city. Church activities, raising a family of five, and active membership in the Eastern Star Lodge kept Nettie quite busy. Yet through out most of her life she found time to help out as a waitress at her brother's cafe, an establishment that has become ledgendary in Clarkfield's early history -- known to all as IVER'S CAFE. Nettie's pleasant and jovial nature combined with an exceptional talent as a cook permitted her few days of idleness. In 1972, Nettie took residence in the Clarkfield Care Center and lived there until her death on February 6, 1978. She is survived by two sons: Donald and Raymond of Faribault; two daughters: Mrs. John (Beverly) Green of California and Mrs. Gerald (Jo Ann) Mack of Minneapolis; two sisters: Anna Iverson and Mrs. Josie Le Gros of Minneapolis; 17 grandchildren and three great grand children. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond in 1959, a daughter Florence, one brother Iver, and four sisters: Oleanna, Johanna, Mable, and Josephine who died in infancy.
