Anne P. Dahl was born September 3, 1898, in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Lars and Marie (Auflem) Loken. Anne was baptized and confirmed in the St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Normania Township. The past 20 years Anne lived in Minneapolis. Prior to that she and her now deceased husband Fred, formerly of Clarkfield, owned an interior decorating business in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. Anne is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Bea Swennes of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Elwyn "Lars" of Clarkfield, Minnesota; two sisters: Mrs. Luella Larson of Minneapolis and Mrs. Minnie Axeline of Oelwein, Iowa; and three sisters-in-law: Mrs. Nora Loken of Clarkfield, Mrs. Gertrude (Dahl) Bassham of Stanton, California, and Mrs. Eunice (Dahl) Kranitz of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dahl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred, in 1947; three brothers: Albert, Ludwig, and Marvin; and two sisters: Louise and Clara. Anne passed away Monday, January 15, 1979, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, after being admitted from Trevilla of Golden Valley Nursing Home where she had resided since a stroke in February of 1977, at the age of 80 years.
