Anna A. West, 72, died November 4, 1986, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 1986, from Spring Creek Lutheran Church of Normania Township with Pastor Robert Lehner and Pastor Lyndon West officiating. Soloist was Mrs. Mavis Ellingson and the organist was Mrs. Lyndon West. Casket Bearers were grandchildren, Randall, Ronald and David Shawd, Lisa West Kleine, Michael and Stephanie West. Final Resting Place is the Spring Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was born September 7, 1914, in Clarkfield, the daughter of Peter and Helen (Kvanbeck) Thorson of Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County. She was baptized on October 4, 1914, and confirmed June 17, 1928, at St. Lucas Church. On March 16, 1935, she married Oscar A. West. They farmed in Friendship Township until 1967 when they moved to Clarkfield. She resided here since that time. She is survived by her children, Ralph West of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Stanley West of Racine, Wisconsin, and Shirley Shawd of Minneapolis, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
