Obituary

Anna Olson, daughter of Ole Nore and Helga (Solem) [Nore] Reite, was born at Nordfjord, Norway, on August 22, 1881. She was baptized in the Lutheran church in Norway. Her father passed away when she was one year old. At the age of seven, she came to America with her mother and sister. They settled in Benson, Minnesota. A brother immigrated to America earlier. On February 13, 1911, she was united in marriage to Tollef Olson in the Lutheran church in Benson. They made their first farm home near Fort Dodge, Iowa, but later moved to a farm near Austin, Minnesota, then a farm near Tracy, Minnesota. In 1917 they purchased the present farm home near Hanley Falls, Minnesota, where they lived since, except for six years from 1925 to 1931 when they lived on a farm they purchased near Clarkfield, Minnesota. To Mr. and Mrs. Tollef Olson, six children were born, all living. Mrs. Olson started to fail in health the summer of 1955, and was taken to the Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, the middle of September. After a week at the hospital they found it advisable to seek a specialist in Minneapolis. However, as the doctor stated there was nothing he could do for her, she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Olson, at Willmar, Minnesota. Except for three days in the Willmar Hospital, she spent her last four weeks at her daughter's home. She passed away quietly on Thursday, October 20, 1955. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Tollef Olson; threee daughters: Hazel (Mrs. Wilbert Meltzer) of Nelson, Minnesota, Nevina (Mrs. Martin Olson) of Willmar, Minnesota, Ruth (Mrs. Perry Idso) of Fargo, North Dakota; three sons: Elder of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Arnold of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, and Donald of Kansas City, Missouri; also seven grandchildren; and one brother, Rasmus Nore of Billings, Montana; one half-sister, Ann (Mrs. Helmer Peterson) of Seattle, Washington; and one half-brother, Christian Reite of Minneapolis; also other relatives and friends.
