(Nelson) Hanson
June 30, 1893 – January 24, 1942
Anna Nelson Anderson Hanson was born June 30, 1893, in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole and Gertrude (Nygaard) Nelson. She was baptized by Rev. B.F. Bengtson and confirmed November 7, 1907, by Rev. C.J. Karl. On April 25, 1917, she was married to Henry Arthur Anderson. To this union one son, Ellsworth Virgil was born. After Henry's death in 1919, she moved back to her parents' home. She took an active part in Sunday School and was organist of the Swede Home congregation and Parochial School teacher. On January 26, 1928, she married Amandus Hanson. To this union one daughter, Victoria Mae, was born. In 1933, the family moved to a farm northwest of Clarkfield. Amandus passed away January 24, 1942. In the spring of 1943, she moved to her present home in Clarkfield. She was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church where she was active in Sunday School and Ladies Aid. Mrs. Hanson passed away January 7, 1963, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 69 years. She is survived by her son and his wife, Ellsworth and Inez Anderson; her daughter and her husband, Victoria and DuWayne Swenson; six grandchildren: Mally, Jane and Judy Anderson and Dean, Bradley and Joyce Swenson; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Severson and Mrs. Julia Severson; besides a number of nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives. Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Henry Anderson; her second husband, Amandus Hanson; three sisters and two brothers. IN MEMORY OF MRS. ANNA H.
