Anna Elise Christensen was born in Belgrade, Minnesota, on July 27, 1883, the daughter of Hendrik A. and Olina (Rotheness) Kalland. She was baptized at Crow River Lutheran Church at Belgrade on August 12, 1883, by Rev. L.J. Markhus and was confirmed at Crow River By Rev. Nils Giere. On April 15, 1911, she was united in marriage to Christian Peder Christensen at Crow River Church by Rev. T.O. Tolo. They made their home on a farm north of Mercer, North Dakota, until 1940, at which time they moved into Mercer where they were members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. In 1958 her husband passed away. Since then, Anna made her home with a niece, Mrs. Selmer Lien at Cottonwood, Minnesota. On March 30, 1965, she suffered a stroke and entered Clarkfield Community Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, and remained there in declining health until October 21, 1965, when she passed away. She leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Mrs. Amanda Christensen of Minneapolis; three brothers: Edward Kalland of Elbow Lake, Minnesota, Harold Kalland of Paynesville, Minnesota, and Elmo Kalland of Barrett, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Christian, her parents, three sisters and one brother. IN MEMORY OF MRS C. P.
