Obituary

Mrs. Anna Jarshaw passed away Thursday afternoon, October 3, 1957, at the Sausele Rest Home in Montevideo, Minnesota, at the age of 83 years. Anna Jarshaw was born July 22, 1874, in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Sten Stevens and Julia (Glaim) Stevens. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith by Pastor Thostenson. On March 16, 1892, she was united in marriage to Peter L. Isaacs who preceded her in death, January 30, 1925. This union was blessed with nine children, all of whom are living to mourn her death. They are Alvin and Gladys (Mrs. Raymond Dotseth) of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Inez (Mrs. Jim Tongen) and Murl of Hazel Run, Minnesota, Ernest of Minneapolis, Cyantha (Mrs. August Tongen) of Montevideo, Minnesota, Myrtle (Mrs. Hewitt Smith) of Yuma, Arizona, Genevieve (Mrs. Robert LeCount) of Jamskedpur, Bikar, India, and Reed Stevens of Los Angeles, California. She was united in marriage to John Jarshaw, September 30, 1926. Four years after his passing, she moved to Clarkfield, where she made her home for many years, with the exception of several months spent in St. Paul and visits on several occasions with her children in California. When her health began to fail, she was cared for by her children until she entered the Rest Home. Surviving Mrs. Jarshaw are her nine children; 33 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Olson of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and Mrs. M.M. Anderson of Los Angeles, California; five brothers: Jerome Stevens of Bismark, North Dakota, Sam Stevens of Mansfield, Ohio, George Hegna of Minneapolis, Melvin Hegna of Clarkfield, Hiram Hegna of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; besides a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. There's an open gate, at the end of the road, Through which each must go alone. And there in a light we cannot see, Our Father claims His own. Beyond the gate your loved one, Finds happiness and rest. And there is comfort in the thought, That a loving god knows best. Blessed be her memory. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
