Anna Broughton was born on January 2, 1878, at Lyon County, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole and Helena (Nelson) Broughton. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She never married and resided in Cottonwood for many years. A year ago, she entered the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Anna passed away on Monday, February 14, 1972, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 94 years. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Anneta Olson of Dexter, Minnesota; two brothers: Anton of rural Cottonwood, and John of Granite Falls, Minnesota; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
