Anna Ruth
(Anderson) Hall
August 17, 1882 – January 10, 2016
Anna Ruth Hall, daughter of Andrew F. and Johanna Sophie Anderson, was born August 17, 1882, and was baptized two days later. She was confirmed November 29th, 1896, and became a member of the Swedish Lutheran Church in Clarkfield in 1899. She grew up in the Clarkfield community and taught school for several years in Yellow Medicine County. In 1913 she went to Montana to teach school. In 1914 she was united in marriage to Clinton Hall. To this union three children were born, namely Percy, Ruth and Lorraine. She has made her home at Madison Memorial Home since February 25, 1951, and enjoyed her stay there. Her health started to fail before Christmas. She was a patient Christian woman. On January 10th she became a bed patient, and was visited often by her nephew and nieces. She slept peacefully away on Sunday morning, January 20th at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 3 days. Her niece, Esther Nelson and nephew Raymond Weeks were with her the last two days and nights. Preceding her in death were her daughter, Lorraine, her parents and three sisters. Left to mourn her departure are her husband, Clinton; son, Percy; daughter, Ruth; and seven grandchildren living in California; one step-sister, Mrs. Oscar Toftness of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; and a large number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Friday, January 25, 1952, 2:00 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota, Rev. C.O. Bomgren officiating. Rev. and Mrs. Bomgren sang a duet and Miss Marlys Larson sang a solo. Pallbearers were Wesley Nelson, Lewellyn Weeks, Allen Larson, grand nephews of Mrs. Hall; and Nels Nelson, Ordell Cole and Emil Larson.
