Anna M. Anderson was born on October 20, 1913, in Tyro Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Albert and Nellie (Rudell) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Anna attended Country School District #29 in Tyro Township. Anna and Elmer Anderson were married at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church parsonage, Hazel Run, Minnesota, on Elmer's birthday, December 15, 1939. They were the parents of four sons: Allen, Robert, Donald and Douglas. Elmer and Anna lived near Boyd, Minnesota, following their marriage. They then moved to Pine City, Minnesota, and returning to the Hanley Falls, Minnesota area in the late 1940's. Anna and Elmer made their home at the Granite Manor, Granite Falls, Minnesota, in July of 2003. Anna was a member of the Hanley Falls Senior Citizens, the Ladies Aid at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing pinochle, dancing, fishing and trapping and listening to 'old time music'. Her favorite and most cherished pastime was 'taking care of Elmer'. She passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2007, at the Granite Manor at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 19 days. She is survived by her children: Allen (and Dee) of Hanley Falls, Robert (and Sharon) of Hammond, Indiana, Donald (and LoyAnn) of Delano, Minnesota, and Douglas (and Barb) of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Lori (Tim) Clarine, Lee (friend Jamie) Anderson, Kim Anderson, Paula (Paul) Schumacher, Teri (Kevin) Miller, Christine (Justin) Cowdrey, Naomi (Nick) Nolan, Erick Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Tara Anderson and Adam Anderson and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Elda Anderson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer in 2006, and siblings: Art and Harry Anderson, Myrtle Appelwick, Albertha Johnson, Dora Dotseth and Alice Johnson. Blessed be her memory.
