IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Trandahl
October 23, 1870 – May 18, 1956
Andrew Trandahl was born in Sondmore, Norway, October 23, 1870, the son of Johan Andreas and Eline (Bjerke) Trandahl. He was baptized and confirmed in Norway. He was united in marriage to Anna Akre, May 7, 1899, and immigrated to America in February, 1908 with his wife and four children. The family settled near Echo, Minnesota, where they remained three years before moving to the Clarkfield, Minnesota community. The family joined Israel Lutheran Church that same year. Mr. Trandahl served the congregation as trustee for 16 years. He farmed till 1948 when poor health forced his retirement and he moved to Clarkfield where he lived with his wife, Anna and son, John. He was of quiet Christian character and enjoyed his radio services as he was unable to attend church in the later years. He passed away at the Clarkfield Hospital, May 18, 1956, at the age of 85 years, six months and 26 days. Preceding him in death are his parents, brother, sister and grandson. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Anna, and six children, namely, John of Clarkfield, Emma (Mrs. Herbert Johnson) of Montevideo, Minnesota, Petra (Mrs. Thorvald Kompelien) of Taunton, Minnesota, Theodore of Dawson, Minnesota, Alfred of Boyd, Minnesota, and Minnie (Mrs. Henrick Soppeland) of Minneapolis; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
