Andrew Stephen "Steve" Gudmundson was born August 2, 1899, to Albert and Una (Thorkelson) Gudmundson on a farm in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized into the Christian faith on September 17, 1899, and in 1912 was confirmed by Rev. B.B. Jonsson at Westerheim Lutheran Church of which he was a longtime member. Later he became a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Minneota, Minnesota. He attended rural school in District 86 of Yellow Medicine County. Steve spent his entire life on the farm where he was born. For many years, Steve, his sister Christine and brother Carl lived together and were engaged in farming. On August 16, 1982, he entered the Clarkfield Hospital where he remained until his death with the exception of several days which were spent at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, on September 29, 1982 at the age of 83 years, one month and 27 days. Steve is survived by one sister, Ina (Mrs. S.E. Isfeld) of Porter, Minnesota; one brother, Carl of Minneota, Minnesota; seven nieces and two nephews; eighteen great nieces and nephews; twenty-one great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Maria and Christine. IN MEMORY OF A.
