Severson

Andrew A. Severson was born June 4, 1879, in Barron County, Wisconsin, son of Andreas Severson and Ragnild (Brenden) Severson and was baptized by Rev. Deitrickson. At the age of seven years, he came with his parents to Minnesota and settled on a farm in Vallers Township, Lyon County, Minnesota. He was confirmed by Pastor Romstad in the St. Lucas Lutheran Congregation in September, 1894, and remained an active member until his death. On February 8, 1905, he was joined in marriage to Emma Nelson of Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, by Rev. Shaleen. To this union, one son, Raymond, was born. He farmed in this community until September, 1945, when he and his wife moved to Clarkfield where he resided until his sudden passing at his home in the evening of July 27, 1960. He reached the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife; his son, Raymond, and his wife Agnes; three grandchildren: Arlen, David and Ihleen; two brothers: Sebert of Cottonwood, Minnesota, and Orvin of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters: Julia (Mrs. Otto Sween) of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Alma (Mrs. William Weese) of Minneapolis and Mandy (Mrs. Julius Johnson) of Minneota, Minnesota; besides a number of nieces and nephews.
