Amy Hanson was born on November 10, 1899, to Lauritz and Anetta Kolhei Hanson in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. The family moved to Northern Minnesota a few years later, and she attended school there. They returned to Cottonwood in the early 1920's. She was employed in insurance work and also as a telephone operator. Amy passed away at the Granite Falls Manor on Tuesday, December 29, 1992, at the age of 93. She was a person interested in family affairs and in national and local happenings and will be sadly missed by her many, many cousins. Amy is survived by cousins from the Cottonwood area and the towns of Osage, Frazee, Morris, Clarkfield, Kassan, Menagha, Granite Falls, Madison and Dawson in Minnesota, and the states of Wisconsin, North Dakota and Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and two brothers. Blessed be her memory.
