Amelia Magdalena was born to Michael and Amelia (Abraham) Golnick in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized on April 13, 1890, by Pastor Christoph Boettcher at St. John's Lutheran Church where she was also confirmed on March 27, 1904, by Pastor August Hillger. Fredrick H. Roske and Amelia Golnick were married on November 6, 1912, at St. John's Church, Pastor William Pankow officiating. They farmed in Tyro Township for many years. Since her husband's death in 1951, Mrs. Roske resided for a number of years with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Piipke, on the farm, and with the families of her other daughters, before spending some time in the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital and Clarkfield Care Center following a stroke in 1974. In 1975 she moved to Luther Haven where she resided until her death. Mrs. Roske passed away November 11, 1978, at Luther Haven of Montevideo, Minnesota, at the age of 87 years. Survivors include three daughters: Freda (Mrs. Alfred Weckwerth) of Montevideo, Elsie (Mrs. Elmer Piipke) of Clarkfield, and Lydia (Mrs. Elvin Stoering) of Courtland, Minnesota; three sons-in-law; six grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, her stepmother, four brothers, one sister, two step-sisters, two step-brothers, one foster sister, and one great grandchildren. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
