Amanda Heimdahl was born March 20, 1918 on the farm of her parents Kittle and Bertha (Myren) Foss. As an infant she was baptized at St. Petri Church of rural Boyd by Pastor Martin Lein. She was confirmed on June 26, 1932 at St. Petri, also by Pastor Martin Lein. Amanda attended School District #11. Amanda married Arthur Heimdahl on December 29, 1952 at the Big Bend Parsonage (Swift County). Arthur and Amanda were engaged in farming their entire married life. After Arthur passed away, Amanda moved to Clarkfield where she made her home until her death. Amanda enjoyed embroidery work. She was a member of the West Bank Lutheran Church until it closed and then she became a member of Augustana Lutheran of Clarkfield. Amanda passed away at her home on Saturday, September 14, 1996 at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 26 days. She is survived by her brother, Harold Foss of Clarkfield and sisters and brothers-in-law: Manda Olson, Signora (Don) Fragodt, and Doris (Ralph) Fragodt and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Arthur.
