Miss Amanda Bohn was born in Brown County, Minnesota, on March 19, 1885, the daughter of Edward Bohn and Mathilda (Scheve) Bohn. Miss Bohn was received as a child of God of the Lutheran faith in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of New Ulm, Minnesota, through the rite of Holy Baptism in her infancy. At the age of two years she moved with her parents to the homestead in Tyro Township. It was there that she made her home until 1942 when she moved to Boyd, Minnesota. Miss Bohn renewed her baptismal vow in the rite of confirmation on May 14, 1899, in Zion Lutheran Church, Tyro Township, Rev. Hillger officiating. She continued as an active member of Zion Church all the days of her life. During the past year as her illness increased it was difficult for her to get to church, but as the pastor would call on her, it could be found that she always continued her faith in her Lord Jesus. It was the Lord that permitted her to reach the age of 68 years, one month and eighteen days. She passed away May 6, 1953, at the Dawson Hospital, Dawson, Minnesota. She leaves to mourn her departure, one sister, Mrs. Lydia Lemke of St. Paul, Minnesota; one half sister, Mrs. Reinhold Lehmann of Boyd, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews and a large number of friends which she made over the years. Her body has been committed to God's care, there to await the last day when all believers shall come forth unto everlasting life.
