Funeral services for Alvina Vien were held Monday, July 1, 1974, from St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Normania Township with Pastor Dean Fodness in charge of the service. Special music consisted of a duet, "Come Holy Spirit" and "Amazing Grace" sung by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Pehrson, accompanied by the organist Mrs. Larry Stensrud. The hymn "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" was sung. Casket Bearers were Norman Reishus, Carlton Varpness, Thurman Kompelien, Fred Benson, Arthur Lee and Kenneth Velde. Interment was at St. Lucas Cemetery. Miss Vien passed away at the University Hospital in Minneapolis, Wednesday, June 27, 1974, after undergoing surgery. Alvina Vien was born April 14, 1894, in Normania Township to parents Martinius and Eline (Jolstad) Vien. She was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Martin Romstad and Rev. T.H. Haugen, respectively. She was a lifelong member of St. Lucas congregation, also an active member of the A.L.C.W. Alvina made her home in Normania until December, 1969, when she moved to Clarkfield with her brother Andrew. She is survived by two brothers, Andrew of Clarkfield, and Roy of Cottonwood, Minnesota, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and five sisters. Arrangements by Lynner Funeral Home since 1891 Clarkfield, Minnesota
