Alvin Elroy Dotseth was born in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, January 29, 1904, the son of Albert and Emma (Oraas) Dotseth. He was baptized April 10th of the same year by Rev. John Salhus. He was confirmed on July 6, 1919, by Rev. O.T. Storaasli. He attended rural school in District 87 and when that district joined Clarkfield School, he attended there for awhile. He spent most of his life on the farm working at home and in the community. These last years he has made his home in Hazel Run. Mr. Dotseth died March 15, 1950, in Hazel Run Township, the result of an automobile accident, at the age of 46 years, two months and six days. He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dotseth; one sister, Florence Johnson; one niece; three nephews; several uncles and aunts and many cousins and friends. Alvin was kindhearted and always willing to help those who needed him. He will be missed in the home and community.
