Alvin Clifford Borg, 84, died November 20, 1986, at the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 25, 1986 at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls with Pastor Larry Olson officiating. Soloist was Mrs. Mavis Ellingson and the organist was Mrs. Colleen Hewitt. Casket Bearers were Keith Borg, Ron Borg, Eric Hubbard, James Rowberg, Allen Waller and Jerry Borg. Final Resting Place is the East Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery, Hanley Falls, Minnesota. He was born July 4, 1902, the son of Claus and Olivia (Nordang) Borg of Sioux Agency Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized at Rock Valley Lutheran Church and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church. On June 3, 1929, he married Mabel Helgeson at the Sacred Heart Lutheran Parsonage, Sacred Heart, Minnesota. They were married by Pastor Giere. For several years they farmed near Granite Falls and in 1942 moved to Hanley Falls where he farmed until moving into town in 1968. He is survived by his wife, Mabel; children Merald Borg and his wife, Eileen of Clarkfield and Shirley Kyner and her husband Paul of Berwick, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brothers, Tony of Granite Falls, Clarence of Montevideo, Minnesota; sisters Freda Waller and Martha Borg of Montevideo; sisters-in-law Myrtle Borg of Wegdahl, Minnesota and Ardis Borg of Minneapolis, Minnesota; nieces and nephews.
