Alva Clarice Lynne was born in Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, June 25, 1910, the daughter of Clarence and Tilda (Kjelleberg) Wilson. She was baptized in Bergen Lutheran Church by Pastor Salhus and confirmed in that church by Pastor Haugland. On July 3, 1939, she was united in marriage to Clifford E. Lynne of Clarkfield at the Bergen Lutheran Church by Pastor Haugland. Alva was active in youth groups in her home church and served as Sunday school superintendent and choir member. She attended rural grade school and was a graduate of the Clarkfield High School and St. Cloud Teachers College. She taught school in District 14 at Hanley Falls, Oxnard, California, and for a number of years has been teaching at Clarkfield schools. She joined the Clarkfield Lutheran Church following her marriage, where she has been an active member in the ladies aid and has served on several church committees. Alva was also active in civic organizations among them the hospital auxiliary and American Legion auxiliary where she served as president at one time. She passed away Sunday, August 21, 1960, at the Clarkifeld Community Hospital at the age of 50 years, following a lingering illness. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1947. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Clifford, her father and three brothers and four sisters: Kenneth Wilson of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, Myrtle (Mrs. Adrian Dahl) of Hancock, Minnesota, Chester of Dayton, Ohio, Arnold of Hermosa Beach, California, Pearl (Mrs. Richard O'Neill) of San Diego, California, Thelma (Mrs. Morris Volstad) of Minneapolis, and Ann (Mrs. D.L.
