Alton E. Olson was born October 10, 1894, to Andrew and Mathilda (Carlson) Olson, at Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, where he grew to adulthood. He served in France during World War I and was wounded in action there. All three of his children, Elvern Olson of Everette, Washington, Eldon Olson of Marysville, Washington, and Belva Stacheli of Everette, Washington, were here for the services. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; four sisters: Ellen Albin of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Elizabeth Olson of St. Paul, Minnesota, Elsie LaFavor of South St. Paul, Minnesota, and Myrtle Hall of Phoenix, Arizona; three brothers: Albert Olson of Parkers Prairie, Roy Olson of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, and Leonard Olson of Battle Lake, Minnesota. He passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis on April 11, 1971. Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister and two brothers. He was a member of the American Legion for over fifty years and was a member of the J. Ben Johnson Post No. 169 at the time of his passing. He resided in this community for many years.
