Alton Waldemar Anderson was born at Clarkfield, Minnesota, on February 3, 1913, one of the 11 children of Oscar T. and Elizabeth (Hoiland) Anderson. He was baptized by Rev. I.R. Stevens and confirmed at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church by Pastor O.M.O. Wee. He was a member of the graduating class of 1931. He spent his entire life in this community, many years working with his father in the general store and later with other members of the family. He was also employed on Mork's REA crews and for a time worked in a local lumber yard. His health began failing about two years ago. He passed away on October 3, 1966, at the Minneapolis home of his brother, Ralph and his wife, at the age of 53 years. He is survived by three brothers and three sisters: Thorfin of Clarkfield, Guilford of Glenwood, Minnesota, Ralph of Minneapolis, Eleanora (Mrs. Oscar Iverson) of Willmar, Minnesota, Esther (Mrs. Arden Lynne) of Clarkfield and Agnes of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters: Thorval and Emery, Agnes and an infant sister. IN MEMORYF ALTON W.
