April 30, 1893
Alma Severson was born April 30, 1893, on a farm in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Hans and Eline (Hollo) Hanson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. On September 7, 1914, she was married to Elmer A. Severson. To this union were born five children, one of whom died in infancy. They were engaged in farming until 1945 when they retired and moved to Marshall, Minnesota. After her husband's death in 1948, she made her home on their farm in Swede Prairie Township until her sudden departure in the early morning of Sunday, December 20, 1964. She was preceded in death by her husband and infant daughter; and two brothers, Marvin and Ludwig Hanson. She leaves to mourn her passing, four children; Deloryce (Mrs. Howard Hanson), Arleen (Mrs. Arlo Hawkinson), Luverne of Cottonwood, and Erma (Mrs. Clifton Ellingson) of Marshall; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters: Ella (Mrs. W.C. Brose) of Minneapolis and Emelia (Mrs. George Molstad) of Madison; and one brother, Henry of Cottonwood.
