Alma Johnson Satre was born December 26, 1887, at Hutchinson, Minnesota, to Martin and Gurina (Pederson) Johnson. She was baptized June 24, 1888, at Hutchinson. At the age of two years she moved with her parents and brother to Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on May 4, 1902, by Pastor H.J. Hulteng who also united her in marriage to John E. Satre of Clarkfield on June 6, 1906. Five children were born to this union: Gladys (Mrs. Herman Kruse) of Worthington, Minnesota, Harland of Montevideo, Minnesota, Arnold, Adeline (Mrs. William White) of Worthington, Minnesota, and Wayne. Preceding her in death were her husband, Dr. John E. Satre in 1962; sons: Arnold and Wayne; grandson Gerald Kruse; great grandson Thomas Kruse; her parents; two sisters; and brother, Mervin Johnson. Mrs. Satre is survived by her daughters, Gladys and Adeline; son Harland; daughters-in-law, Vivian Satre and Thelma Sabe; son-in-law, Herman Kruse; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Julia Anderson of Clarkfield and Mrs. Lillian Johnson of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Satre had suffered a stroke in February and had never fully recovered. After the death of her husband she moved to Worthington, Minnesota. She spent the past two years with her daughter and passed away at Lake Haven Nursing Home at Worthington at the age of 86 years. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
