Obituary in Memory of ALMA M. JOHNSON Alma M. Johnson, 84, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, passed away as a result of an accident on Tuesday, September 13, 1983. She was born on April 15, 1899, to Lars and Thea (Olson) Winson in Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was one of ten children. Alma attended rural school there and was baptized and confirmed in Norwegian at Camp Release Church in Stony Run Township. Alma married Clarence T. Johnson on December 16, 1929. To this union three children were born, Phyllis (Mrs. John) Christiansen of Canby, Minnesota, Howard of Olivia, Minnesota, and Earl of Forest Lake, Minnesota. During her life time, Alma worked in many places: The hospital, cafes and Dean's produce, candling eggs. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence in 1938 and by her son Howard in 1981. She is survived by her daughter Phyllis; her son Earl; her son-in-law, John Christiansen; daughters-in-law Donna Johnson of Olivia and Hilde Johnson of Forest Lake; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Laura Olson, Ella Larson and Florence Saundager all of Clarkfield.
