(Fenske) Wiegers

Alma K. Wiegers was born, March 17, 1907, in Omro Township, to Ludwig and Bertha (Wiegers) Fenske. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro Township. She attended rural school. On January 20, 1926, she married John Wiegers at St. John's Lutheran Church. Three daughters were born: Phyllis, Carol and Jean. Besides being a homemaker, Alma worked, at various times, as a cashier and in floral design. She also sang in the church choir. Alma, formerly of the Clarkfield and Marshall communities, died Sunday, March 8, 1992, at Peoria, Arizonia at the age of 84. Her funeral was held Friday, March 13, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Omro Township, with Pastor Joseph Schlawin officiating. Organist was Glenda Knuth and soloist, Mark Fenske. Pallbearers were Del Fenske, Gordon Geistfeld, Jon Geistfeld, Myron Geistfeld, Gail Schipansky and Maynard Wiegers. Interment was in the Marshall Cemetery, Marshall. Alma is survived by two daughters: Phyllis, and her husband Bernard Brauer, of Glendale, Arizonia, Carol, and her husband Jack Adams, of Phoenix, Arizonia; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters: Lenora Geistfeld of Granite Falls, Selma Wiegers and Gwen Geistfeld of Marshall; and a brother, Ernie Fenske of Clarkfield. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, in 1955; daughter Jean, in 1938; and one grandson, Wade Brauer; two brothers: Edward and Fred; and one sister, Hilda.
