Alma (Anderson) Stokke was born south of Clarkfield, Minnesota, September 21, 1890, the daughter of Joe Anderson and Mary (Tew) Anderson. She spent her entire life in the Clarkfield community except two years which were spent on a farm near Antler, North Dakota. She was baptized at St. Lucas Lutheran Church by Rev. K. Thorstenson, confirmed in 1904 by Rev. Martin Romstad, and has continued her membership in the same church up to the time of her death. In 1911, she was united in marriage to Nels Stokke. To this union, three children were born, namely, Myrtle (Mrs. Alvin Hanson), Vern, and Stanley, who died in infancy. In 1945, Mr. and Mrs. Stokke moved to Clarkfield where they have since resided. Mrs. Stokke passed away May 22, 1960, at the hospital in Huron, South Dakota, at the age of 69 years. Mr. and Mrs. Stokke had been visiting cousins in that city, when she suffered a stroke and passed away. Besides her two children, she is survived by her husband and a sister, Mrs. Edgar Bakke, of Olivia, Minnesota, and six grandchildren. IN MEMORY OF MRS. NELS M.
